PROGRAM BACA TULIS AL-QURAN (BTA) DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA AL-QURAN SISWA SMP NEGERI 2 BANTUR

This study aims to describe the implementation of the BTA program at SMP Negeri 2 Bantur and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its execution. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, involving Islamic education teachers and BTA instructors as subjects, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the BTA program is carried out according to a class-based schedule, using adaptive learning approaches and methods tailored to students' reading abilities, such as the use of Iqro’ books and the Peer Tutor method. The program is supported by the Malang District Education Office and receives positive responses from students, along with active teacher involvement. However, a major challenge lies in the suboptimal grouping of students based on their reading abilities, which affects the effectiveness of the learning process. Therefore, ongoing evaluation and development are necessary to ensure the program’s effectiveness and sustainability.
